The Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage - Dog Friendly Cottage in Wick, The Highlands
Our cottage is the perfect base for getting out of the car to explore Scotland's North Coast 500 route, visiting John o'Groats, discovering ruined castles, walking on our clifftops and open beaches.
The cottage sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms. With a living room and a separate family/dining room, you can come home after a day exploring, and rustle up a family meal in our well equipped kitchen, play games at our large dining table, or curl up with family favourite DVDs in the living room.
Our cosy cottage is the perfect off-season getaway for couples, and our adult sized twin and bunk beds give you the flexibility to relax with family and friends, or to enjoy a little extra space on a romantic weekend.
Your base to explore Caithness
Blow the cobwebs away on Caithness's magnificent beaches, wait quietly to photograph puffins or seals, or walk the Yarrows Trail exploring Caithness's mysterious Neolithic sites. You can visit the Queen Mother's home at the Castle of Mey or find out how crofters and fisher-folk lived. Take a day trip to Orkney, or fit in a tour and a tipple at one of our distilleries. Take a snap by the sign at John o'Groats or visit Dunnet Head. If you like an adventure, take a sea tour, go surfing or kayaking, or even try some wild swimming.
Children and dogs more than welcome
We welcome adult dogs, though we ask you to keep your pet on a lead in case it's excited by being somewhere new. There’s a low sea wall between the lighthouse compound and cliffs, not to mention our neighbour's sheep and cattle, and baby birds in the spring and summer. Service dogs are free of charge.
