Swattesfield Campsite - Dog Friendly Camping & Glamping in Suffolk

Set in the heart of East Anglian countryside, we have plenty of camping options for those looking for something uniquely special! Two cosy Pixie Huts, Three Boutique Bell Tents and a Converted Suffolk Hay Cart alongside around 15 unmarked pitches for camping under canvas or small campervans! Our suffolk campsite spans over 7 acres which leaves oodles of room for campers to spread out and enjoy themselves!

Swattesfield Campsite has settled into a delightful countryside campsite in North Suffolk making it the ideal spot to stay and explore the Waveney Valley and the local market towns of Eye and Diss. We are a family of campers ourselves (so much infact we have our own camping shop in Diss) and the site has come on leaps and bounds since our opening year in 2010. We aim to provide many more happy memories for our campers!

Make a cuppa in our communal kitchen, Free gas stove and cooking equipment all to hand.

Every camping trip needs a fire. We have hanging fire pits, logs and kindling all available.

We pride ourselves on our Eco efforts. Full range of recycling is available. All water is from our own bore hole onsite.

Take a hike around the beautiful village of Thornham Magna and explore it's history. Accesible directly from the site.

Gislingham Village Stores is located just 15-20 min walk or 2 min drive from the site for any forgotten essentials.

Hunt out the many local eateries from cafes to restaurants or pubs. There is so much on offer locally.

Enjoy the local wildlife. From Barn Owls, Kingfishers and more (not forgetting  our resident Jacobs sheep!)

Make full use of the free Pizza oven! You can do this yourself or if you want a hand lighting it we will always help out.

For 2017, we have been hard at work improving the toilet block onsite - New toilets have been fitted along with LED lighting throughout. Our campsite shop has been expanded and now has a reception area alongside all the camping essentials that you may have forgotten. Not only that, but we hope to make WIFI available throughout the main camping field so you can instagram all those amazing pictures you are going to be taking!

We don't believe in set pitches and like to allow the site to have room to breathe so feel free to explore the seven acres before setting up base. We ask that all campervans pitch on our main field, but those with tents also have the option of the glade or find a secret hide away in the woods!

Cars are not allowed beyond the main field for safety reasons, however we have trolleys and Trevor the Tractor to move your camping gear further onto the site if needed, the glade is next to our unfenced pond so not suitable for small children!
We allow 2 adults and up to 4 children per pitch.

Pre-pitched tents - Save the hastle of fighting with tent poles and guy ropes and allow us to set up for you! We cannot guarentee the tent you will be sleeping in until arrival due to availability, however it will most likely be a 5 metre bell tent complete with Coir matting on the floor to keep you in even more comfort. We can pitch these near friends if requested on the booking.
Priced at £40 one off pitching fee plus the cost of each nights tent pitch.

Our beautiful boutique Bell Tents come equipped with double bed and memory foam mattress, Kidz camp beds and your own fire pit, you just need to provide the wine!

Our two perfect Pixie huts have been nestled into the hedge row on our main field, Positioned to catch the last of the days sun!

Stay in our Sweet Suffolk Hay cart, built by Phil's own bare hands. Experience the traditional wood burner and your own outside woodmans canopy!
