“I have stayed in many dog friendly cottages over the past 10 years and I can honestly say that Puddle Duck Cottage was the most welcoming and best equipped cottage I have stayed in. Everything I could possibly need was available both for myself and the dog. The cottage was immaculate, lovely and warm and the perfect base for exploring the local area. The owners couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. The area where the cottage is based was perfect with lovely walks from the door and a spacious outdoor area to relax in. I would highly recommend the cottages and will definitely return. Thanks Kim”

“Arriving at this cottage after a long journey is heaven: The cottage was SO clean, delightful side lights are on to welcome you and the fridge has milk ready for tea which goes so well with the cake! The cottage is well stocked with everything you need PLUS a really good welcome package. Tea, coffee etc to last your whole stay. The dogs are clearly welcomed (first aid kit, toys, biscuits, towels and poo bags) it makes the stay so much easier. Sonia was easy to contact when I needed her and was extremely pleasant. The damages deposit had been returned before I got home!! I thought the area was charming and so interesting. There are so many great places to eat & Shrewsbury Prison is well worth the journey to. Well loved our stay.”

- Josie Carroll

“Such a lovely place for a relaxing break. The cottage has everything you need, it was very clean on our arrival and smelled really lovely, the cake and wine in the welcome pack were an added bonus. It is a perfect base to visit all the museums and parks which are all in walking distance, we hardly used the car. Our two beagles were very content whilst there and settled in really quickly and loved the large garden and grounds which were completely secure and safe. We will certainly be returning to Puddle Duck and Duckling in the future.”

- Katharine Wilson

“The cottage really was a home away from home. It was so comfy and we really felt you went the extra mile leaving gifts for us and Binky (which were much appreciated by the way). I don't think we have ever stayed anywhere that is so dog friendly. We have a bit of an escape artist in Binky and never once did we panic that she was going to escape from the gardens and she was welcome in most of the places we visited during our stay. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the cottages to anyone.”

- Scott Kitchen

“We just had the most amazing stay at duckling cottage with our 2 beagles. The cottage is like home from home with additional touches. Sonia obviously wants her guests to feel at home. Our beagles loved the walks and the garden and never once before have we stayed anywhere where the dogs were as comfortable as we were. We look forward to booking again and coming back to this lovely area Thank you so much Sonia xx”

“This is our 2nd visit to Puddle Duck Cottage and it didn't disappoint. We had a lovely weeks holiday. The cottage is so well looked after and very clean. It is as lovely as it looks in the pictures. Before and during our stay we had great customer service by Sonia and our damages deposit was returned really promptly. We would definitely recommend the cottage to our family and friends. Once again we parked our car up on arrival and never used it again until we were heading home. So much to see and do walking from the cottage. We visited the Victorian Village and spent a great day there. It was also incredibly dog friendly and we entered the fun dog show with Barney our Beagle. We enjoyed the fish and chips and bought some gorgeous bread and biscuits from the Victorian bakery. The Maws craft centre is really good with some interesting shops. I can really recommend the Ironbridge Candle shop. They smell incredible and the owner was really helpful. We also enjoyed a yummy cake and drink in the cafe which is dog friendly. The Half Moon pub was so quick to walk to in an evening, is dog friendly and serves great food. We really enjoyed our walks into Ironbridge and Greys tearoom serves lovely snacks and cakes and dogs are welcome in the basement which is lovely and cool. The owner is very nice and Barney loved the dog biscuits she gave him. We also bought some really nice cheese from there. Cleo's bar looks as if it is the trendy place to go in an evening but we sampled the Sunday lunch and it was delicious. We followed a few different sign posted walks and always ended our walk in one of the many dog friendly pubs for a drink. We will definitely be returning for a 3rd visit and really must explore more of the surrounding area by heading somewhere in the car (Ludlow & Bridgnorth) As soon as we arrive at the cottage we relax and just enjoy ourselves.”

- Diane Hipkiss

“ust back from a really enjoyable stay at Puddle Duck Cottage - it was the perfect size for 6 adults and 2 dogs. Sonia kept me updated from booking through to confirming that our security deposit had been refunded. The cottage had everything you needed for a weekend away, so much so we took stuff back home that we didn't need to use! Extremely dog friendly - covers were provided for the sofas, the garden was very secure and it was a comfort to know that they were allowed upstairs too. They very much appreciated the toy from Bertie. Once there, we never used the cars for the duration of our stay as everything we visited was just a decent dog walk away. Nice to see the local pubs had doggy watering stations with an outside tap and plenty of dog bowls available and Blists Hill Victorian Town was an enjoyable (and dog friendly) day out even when the good old British weather was against us.”

- Rachel Adams

“he property was very clean, comfortable and well maintained and in a lovely quiet location. Thank you for the supply of dog biscuits, towels and toys too. The damages deposit was very promptly refunded. We have already recommended your cottages to some friends and family. We have done plenty of walking with our dogs and enjoyed eating out, everyone was friendly and we enjoyed the pubs you recommended. Very relaxing. Thank you for having us. Best wishes, Elke, Bryan, Tina and Paddy also our dogs Mia and Buster.”

- Elke Ford

“Puddle Duck Cottages really are a wonderful find . A home from home in beautiful surroundings with lots to see and do. The cottages are super dog friendly with the biggest and safest dog proof garden we've ever had in a holiday rental. For visitors without dogs the cottage is spotless so don't be put off by previous doggy visitors as you'd never know they'd been there. If you do have dogs they will love it . Biscuits , toys , bowls and towels provided . Two legged visitors also got a welcome pack and Sonia had left me a birthday cake which was a lovely touch.”

- Donna Challis

“Our stay was perfect. The cottage was more than we hoped for and for the first time in a strange place we slept like logs every night. The bed was so comfortable. We walked everyday from the cottage so did not use the car. We hope to come back one day and would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to our family and friends. You really do having 2 amazing cottages in a stunning location and once again thank you.”

- Cheryl Mahl

“e had a very relaxing week in Puddle Duck Cottage with 4 adults and 2 dogs. The weather was atrocious, but the availability of the secure areas allowed us to at least exercise the mutts. Bertie the beagle was an absolute joy and played wonderfully with our Beagle and our friends' collie. The cottage itself was clean, tidy and well equipped. It was instantly welcoming with lights on and the little 'extras' for the doggies and humans were lovely. We all want to return and hopefully explore a bit more on foot in slightly less monsoon-like conditions! Thanks to Sonia and Darren for all their hard work and attention to detail. Lastly, the housekeeping ladies did a fabulous job of prepping the cottage and thanks must also go to them.”

- Chris Brooke

“The cottage was beautifully cleaned, well maintained and well equipped. Sonia is an exceptional host, keeping you informed of local events and checking you have everything you need. It was lovely after a couple of stays to actually meet Sonia, Darren and Bertie! Our deposit was returned very promptly and within a few hours of us leaving. I would not only recommend both the cottages, but we are hoping to return next year for a week this time with family. We went to the Victorian village which was wonderful, walked to Ironbridge and ate at the Woodbridge Inn which is lovely with beautiful views. We ate the rest of the time at the cottage and enjoyed the gardens immensely as we had glorious sunshine! If iI had my way, we would holiday here at least twice a year, or better still, live in Duckling Cottage! I love the area, and how accessible the cottages are to everything both in the car and on foot, how dog friendly they are (you would be surprised how many places we have stayed that say they are and the gardens aren't secure or they have cream sofas and carpets!) We have stayed in both cottages now and they are both exceptionally well maintained, with everything you could possibly need for your stay, and are immaculate on arrival. I can't thank Sonia and Darren enough for yet again a wonderful long weekend.”

- Joanne Davies

“Fantastic cottage, very spacious, even with an xxl dog crate there was loads of room. The paddock is fantastic, our dogs loved it! We will be back.”

- Mandy Hackett Mills

“Puddle Duck Cottages really are a wonderful find . A home from home in beautiful surroundings with lots to see and do. The cottages are super dog friendly with the biggest and safest dog proof garden we've ever had in a holiday rental. For visitors without dogs the cottage is spotless so don't be put off by previous doggy visitors as you'd never know they'd been there. If you do have dogs they will love it . Biscuits, toys, bowls and towels provided. Two legged visitors also got a welcome pack and Sonia had left me a birthday cake which was a lovely touch. Sonia called to let us know the cottage was ready to check in early and messaged later that night to make sure everything was in order. Our damages depsoit was returned within hours of leaving the cottage. We would recommend the cottages to friends and family? We're hoping to come back next year with friends already. we had a lovely meal in the Woodbridge Inn. We visited Blist Hills Victorian Town which was very interesting, we climbed the Wrekin and had a lovely afternoon in Ironbridge.”

- Donna Chalis

“We had a fantastic stay at Puddleduck Cottage. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and never had such a warm welcome. It was so warm & inviting and there was everything we needed for a relaxing break. We were just a short walk from pubs, the river and Ironbridge so we spent all weekend exploring. The surroundings were very peaceful, it was just what we needed. Bugsy the beagle was well behaved and more than catered for in the cottage, it was so dog friendly! From the treats & bowls, to the baby gate & throw for the sofa - everything was thought of. The enclosed garden was perfect so we would let him out for sniffs and toilets without worrying he would run off and follow his nose. The cottage was really cosy, wi-fi was fantastic as my husband wanted to watch a very 'important' football match whilst we were there. We loved the games and cooked dinner, finding everything we needed. Sonia is fantastic we don't hesitate to recommend, a massive 5 stars from us and we can't wait to go back. We were even lucky enough to meet Bertie the beagle so had our puppy fix”

- Penny Weston

“Duckling Cottage is beautiful and cosy, nicely furnished and decorated. Sonia had left us a really nice welcome pack with food essentials and treats for us and our doggies Treacle and Tillie. The wood burning stove made our evenings extra cosy. Beds were super-comfortable. Everything you need. Our dogs were safe and secure in a large well fenced outdoor area. The location is superb. Very leafy and pretty, with great possibilities for walking and eating out. Nearby Ironbridge is gorgeous, great walks that are on hard standing so no muddy feet or paws. Visited and had a great time at Blist's Hill Victorian Village. All just a short walk away. Would highly recommend and will return for another visit in the future. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. Excellent customer service. We were in contact with Sonia if needed, she ordered us a Takeaway for us and answered all our questions or request very quickly. We have recommended the cottages to friends and family and we have already booked for a return stay in 2020.We liked visiting the Victorian Village and eating at the Woodbridge Inn and Zengh Takeaway.”

- Terry Darbyson

“All pre-arrival information and communication was excellent. Although the website is great, it's not until you actually turn into the drive of the cottage can you appreciate the fabulous location of the cottages. The scenery from the cottage is beautiful and we loved listening to the birds singing! The cottage itself has everything you could need, and the thoughtful touches provided throughout made our stay even more special. We found the cottage a real home from home, with comfortable sofas and beds, and after a long journey to the cottage, we had a lovely lazy time enjoying walks from our door and catching up with friends. Our golden doodle, Archie, had a ball and we knew he was genuinely welcome. As a big bouncy young dog, this was a perfect location for his first overnight away from home. Thank you!!”

- Suzanne Stevenson

“Duckling cottage was immaculate and fresh. The Easter hamper was a lovely addition to our stay. Would definitely recommend to everyone, very dog friendly. We visited Blists Victorian Museum and Ironbridge, also the Tile Museum. Hope to come back soon.”

- Nicola Spencer

“his was our 4th stay at Puddleduck Cottages and we all had another wonderful, relaxing weekend. The location is just perfect, right by the River Severn and with lovely walks straight from the door. We did the Silkin Way & Severn Valley Way walks with the beagles. It was lovely to see the Ironbridge again and we visited Maws Craft Centre, Jackfield Tile Museum, Kinki Glass at Fusion, Dale End Park and Coalport China Museum. The boys had a lovely meal out at the Woodbridge Inn. The cottage itself is beautiful and we loved the welcome hamper, log burner and the great bespoke bed! We would highly recommend a visit and can't wait to return again, thank you Sonia.”

- Katharine Blackman

“Excellent accommodation spotlessly clean and fresh welcome cake and wine also dread butter etc you couldn't recommend this property to highly, any problem sorted there and then in cheerful way. Took my granddaughter wife and daughter also Wilson the dog he goes everywhere and on arrival he had gift and biscuits waiting for him also. There are good pubs within walking all doing good food and all dog friendly. There is a pub at the bottom of road although not for meals has good atmosphere and old world style . Cross the river and you are at Bliss Hill Village a good day out for kids and adults, I can't praise this accommodation more highly second time and will visit again would recommend to all thank you Sonia for great break.”

- Bill Hoffman

“Lovely spotlessly clean cottage, everything there you could need. Any problems (although very unlikely to have any) are dealt with immediately. Great place for walking with the dog, lovely old pubs along the riverside, great dog friendly places to eat. The log burner in the cottage was lovely to be able to light at the end of a long day walking and sightseeing. Iron bridge and the Victorian village are all within walking distance. Our second stay at puddle duck cottages, we have sampled both cottages now, and would be torn with which one to book next time as both are cosy comfy, and home from home.”

- Jo Thrussell

“he cottage was very clean, well equipped and everything worked as it should. Unlike many 'dog-friendly' places, apart from the bowls laid out and jar of dog treats, you would never know from how clean and fresh the cottage was that a dog had ever been in there before. Can't beat the reception we received on arrival with a chocolate cake, bottle of wine and treats for the dog. We would absolutely recommend the cottages to family and friends. We visited Blists Hill and Enginuity which we enjoyed and took a walk up to the nearby craft centre. However, simply the location so close to the river with many walks is perhaps one of the main attractions of Puddle Duck Cottages.”

- Andrew Rowland

“The cottage is well presented and lovingly decorated with everything well thought out to ensure a comfortable stay. The additional touches are outstanding - welcome hamper for both humans and pooches! Very well informed about the local area and cottage facilities prior to arrival by emails from Sonia. The cottage is in a beautiful setting, very peaceful and relaxing feel to the place. We loved exploring the local area with the help of the handy maps and guided walks left in the cottage by Sonia. Lots of dog friendly local pubs 5/10 minutes walk away. We only ate out one evening at The Half Moon but it was very nice. I have already recommended to friends who are Dachshund owners and would recommend in the future and consider a return holiday there myself. Thanks again Sonia!”

- Julie Babour

“We have just come back from a lovely stay at Puddle Duck Cottages. The cottage was so clean and cosy, really welcoming for a rental property. Absolutely everything you need is there, including a nice bottle of wine and some other essential items. The dogs are also so well catered for which was an important aspect for us having two cheeky Beagles. Sonia was very friendly and approachable and ensured we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and will be making a return visit ourselves! The area is great for walking, especially with dogs! We preferred it so much to other places we have visited. All the pubs / restaurants/ cafes in the local area were friendly and excepted our dogs with open arms. Natalie, David Bertie Beagle & Ruby Beagle”

- Natalie Mekloufi

“Duckling cottage is excellent in every way, it is spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed throughout. Attention to detail is apparent in all the rooms which are really well equipped with everything you can think of, particularly the kitchen. There is a fabulous welcome pack which is also practical and useful. Fresh bread butter, eggs, milk, chocolate cake to die for and a bottle of red wine. The large wine glasses were particularly appreciated! We have 3 Springer spaniels who are well behaved and go on holiday regularly with us. Some holiday cottage owners will only allow one or maybe two dogs so to find somewhere as stunning as this which will allow 3 is amazing. Treats and toy ducks were even provided! Also dog towels and poo bags. We always take covers for sofas and clean up after our dogs which is made so much easier with hard floors and the stair gate to prevent any escapees to the upper floor! So many owners ask that dogs don't go upstairs then don't provide a gate. There is a large enclosed garden and plenty of parking. Upstairs the main bedroom has a king size bed(a must in our opinion) and an ensuite shower room. The back bedroom has twin beds and there is a family bathroom with a shower over. There were only the two of us this time but often friends will join us and it's great to have a second bath/shower room. The area is fantastic with walks straight from the door and several very convenient pubs within walking distance which serve food. The Woodbridge is our favourite. Sonia was more than helpful with any queries we had and returned the security deposit promptly (same day). All in all a perfect stay, couldn't fault it and will definitely return!”

- Carol Platt

“Fabulous cottage, for many reasons. When my husband and I were talking about it earlier in comparison with other self catering accommodation we couldn't actually think of anything that we would change about Duckling Cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated, modern but in keeping with the character of the cottage. We felt very comfortable, it is very well equipped, both in the all Important kitchen area and also across the property with items like towels, bath/shower gel, hairdryers, books and DVDs. It was lovely to have eggs, bread and milk ready to use and the chocolate cake was a bonus. Four of us stayed at the cottage, two adults and two young teenagers. There was plenty of space for us all and our furry friends. We all slept well and the showers were hot. As it was a cold weekend it was lovely to have the wood stove and the girls enjoyed toasting marshmallows. The property was not cold at all. We felt very cosy and warm when looking out at a very frosty morning. Everywhere was clean and tidy, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. The location is delightful, out of the way and yet just a walk away from all the main amenities and museums. Amazing countryside and views. I have left until last the absolute highlight and that is the absolute and real dog friendly-ness of Duckling cottage. We brought with us three beagles. It was a great that we found accommodation that would take our three hounds and they were certainly made to feel welcome. A toy for each, although our youngest thought they were all for her, a towel each for muddy paws, bowls and dog biscuits. There was plenty of room for us to our up our dog crate for them without losing any space. The best bit for the pack was the secure and spacious grounds for them to run and play in. Three different areas all gated and full of wonderful sniffs and fun. We get completely safe with them running about and they were very happy dogs. It's probably worth noting that the house does not smell a bit of dog nor could I say there was any unwanted evidence of dog anywhere on the property. I don't think that non dog owners would be disappointed if they chose to stay here. Sonia and Darren, the owners, were friendly and helpful. Bertie, their 12 week old beagle puppy and 'chief meeter and greeter' in training is adorable. The pack that was sent out ahead of our stay including recommendations on where to eat etc was really useful. There was also plenty of literature in the cottage for local information. Sonia clearly cares about her visitors making the most of their stay in Ironbridge and was keen to hear about our adventures so she could use for future guests. We would, without hesitation, recommend Sonia and Duckling Cottage. I would be very proud to say I was the owner of this business; Sonia has set the bar high for our future self catering cottage searches. Thanks”

- Zoe O'Toole

“he property was immaculate, a home away from home. Everything was thought of. We were so comfortable for our entire stay. Sonia and Darren were really helpful and we had the privilege of meeting Bertie! We had an amazing time, with walks straight from the cottage to beautiful pubs with great food. We had so much fun exploring all of the Ironbridge Museums, especially the Victorian Village with the dogs. The dogs were welcome everywhere we went as well which always makes for a more relaxing holiday. All in all we had an brilliant time. Thank you so much.”

- Abi Dundas

“his is my 4th visit to Puddle Duck Cottages and it really is a home from home. It is perfectly positioned with dog friendly pubs and lovely walks with both walking distance and a short drive away. The facilities at the cottages are first rate, beautifully equipped and comfortable and the gardens are fully escape proof so the dogs can roam freely. Our next visit is already planned!”

- Jo Green

“The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well equipped and well maintained. It is certainly the nicest cottage that we have stayed in. We also love the quiet location. The booking process was efficient and easy with excellent customer service We would certainly recommend the cottages to family and friends As far as visitor attractions and places to eat are concerned, we enjoyed Blists Hill which is interesting and we were able to take our Beagle. Our favourite place to eat is the Woodbridge Inn which again is dog friendly. Thanks again for a very enjoyable holiday”

- Joy Upfold

“A wonderful and gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting by the River Severn. So tranquil and peaceful. The property is excellent condition and extremely well maintained. Well equipped with every imaginable item supplied. Superb accommodation for pet dogs. Ideal for pet dogs. Super-clean. Beautiful and tasteful interior furnishings. Excellent and faultless customer service from Sonia. Excellent local and tourist information in books and leaflets left in cottage. I would most definitely recommend to friends and family (unless they plan the same period!!) Did many walks including a walk to Ironbridge and the Woodbridge Inn, where we ate on two occasions. Had an excellent beer in the very welcoming Boat Inn at the bottom of the garden!!”

- Gordon Clark

“What a beautiful cottage. The location is wonderful and the cottage itself is just perfect. It was immaculately clean inside and out, and was cosy, comfy and tastefully decorated. We felt immediately at home and relaxed in such a lovely space. The cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay, with thoughtful touches such as dog bowls and treats and local information. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and the kids absolutely loved the huge cabin beds. The outside areas were fab too - we loved sitting in the beautiful, sunny front garden with a cup of tea in the morning. Communication with the host was first rate. We were really impressed that we could have a late check out - it made our final day so much more relaxing and enjoyable. We are already planning our return and have recommended the cottage and area to family and friends. We visited as we were attending a wedding nearby which meant we didn't get to spend as much time in the cottage and local area as we would have liked! We must return!”

- Lucy Hughes

“eautiful cottage, such attention to detail, all the little extras were fab. Great communication with Sonia, she was so helpful with all the information she provided. The gardens were brilliant for the dogs. Such peaceful and scenic dog walks, and great pubs near by. My husband fished the river Severn every day and loved it, so much so that we have already booked our next stay there.”

- Claire Beasley

“Puddle Duck Cottage was absolutely spotless when we arrived and very well maintained throughout. The booking process and support received were excellent. We would absolutely recommend a stay to friends and family and we have already done so. We didn't do very much as we were mainly relaxing with the dogs. We did enjoy a few nice walks around the area and had a particularly nice Thai take away on our last night from The King and Thai just a few minutes drive away. We felt at home the minute we arrived, it was the perfect place for us to unwind and relax for a few days. We loved everything about the cottage and the welcome cake, wine, food and toys for the dogs were a lovely touch. It was lovely to have the secure back garden and the additional side garden with picnic table for our dogs to explore. As they are Beagles they are prone to following their noses so knowing they were safe and secure was important to us. Being able to park right in front of the cottage was great and made loading and unloading easy. Location is great, with all required amenities just a few minutes drive away. We will definitely return, probably for a longer stay so that we can visit more local places of interest.”

- Victoria Williams

“First class accommodation, immaculately clean and excellent location. All the local attractions are well within walking distance, together with a number of eating places, all welcoming dogs. We will certainly be returning in the near future and have already recommended your cottage to our friends and family. A real home from home.”

- Teresa Goodall

“Our 8th visit to PDC although on previous occasions have stayed in Duckling Cottage, this time we were in Puddle Duck. Outstanding properties, beautifully maintained. Client service top class as always. Very clean cottages, well equipped to high standard. It feels like our home from home, certainly would and do recommend PDC. Sonia & Daz are brilliant hosts. This time we visited Blists Hill Victorian Town as the friends, it is very dog friendly. We did the tile trail from the cottages which is a lovely circular walk and stopped in at the church on the trail who were also welcoming of our pawsome foursome hounds. We ate at the Woodbridge a couple of times (dog friendly in/out) and the Brewery Inn (dog friendly under cover area to the rear). Tried to eat at the Half Moon, personally I would avoid this place permanently now - i was giving it a last chance after 2 previous visits with poor service, this time they would only serve food if you had booked and the place was half empty. That however is no reflection on PDC Of course, which gets 5 stars all the way. We will keep on recommending for sure.”

- Alison Murray

“The propery was very clean and tidy and the little extra touches were lovely, such as the toy for Dudley and the cake. Sonia is one thoughtful lady and you can tell that she prides herself on delivering excellent customer service for her guests. I would not hesitate to recommend Puddleduck Cottages to others and have already done so. We ate at the Black Swan one night (we took Dudley with us), the next night we made pizza on the BBQ and then we cooked on the final night. I took Dudley on local walks, some that you recommended and others that weren't planned per se - we walked to the Iron Bridge one day to have cream tea and sausage rolls - yum. We went to the Maws centre for a spot of cake. My mum intended on visiting a gin distillery - although by the looks of the bags it seemed more like a massive gin shop!”

- Linzi Perriman

“We have just had a long weekend at Puddle Duck Cottage and loved it. From the minute we arrived we felt at home. The cottage is beautiful with everything you need and the beds are so comfortable! Our beagle Barney loved it and the surrounding area and walks were perfect. Lots of dog friendly pubs serving delicious food all within easy walking distance. The cake, wine and card on arrival for our Silver Wedding were so thoughtful and delicious, we enjoyed them sat chilling in the garden. We will definitely return.”

- Diane Hipkiss

“Have just come back from an amazing long weekend at Puddle Duck Cottage. From start to finish it was lovely, the cottage was beautiful and just felt like being at home. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need. The area is very dog friendly and there are many pubs to visit. Sonia was very helpful and all the extra touches from a welcome hamper for us and the dog to birthday card for my husband. We've been extremely lucky with the weather and I felt like we have been away for ages. Herby our dog is completely worn out and he snoring away. Thank you for making it a lovely weekend. Looking forward to our next visit.”

- Sarah Davis

“Beautifully presented cottage very cosy with everything you would need for a relaxing stay. Dogs made very welcome. In a charming setting with lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. It was great to meet the owners who were very welcoming and helpful. Good pubs nearby serving great food where dogs were allowed. This was a return visit and we will certainly like to stay again.”

- Valarie Pitt

“We had a fantastic bank holiday break celebrating our daughters 18th birthday in Duckling Cottage. Tilly, our Yorkshire terrier insisted on joining us and we were so pleased to find the cottage through www.dotty4paws.co.uk. Not only was Tilly spoilt with her doggy gift pack, we loved our welcome pack (home made chocolate cake, bread, wine etc) and our daughter was chuffed with her birthday card and “18' balloon - thoughtful touches. The cottage was gorgeous, set in a peaceful and tranquil location, next to the River Severn and within walking distance of many lovely pubs and scenic walks. We spent our daughter's birthday in Ironbridge, having pre booked a raft tour through Shropshire Raft Tours (which was fantastic and a must for anyone visiting the area) and another day at the Blists Hill Victorian Town (a great day out for the whole family). We never got to meet Sonia or Bella as they were away that weekend, but Sonia had emailed everything that we needed to know before our visit and there was plenty of information in the cottage about local attractions, places to eat etc. We have already recommended the cottage to family and friends, and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!”

“Duckling Cottage was a pleasure to stay in, extremely clean and everything thought through. A very generous welcome pack on arrival, and added toy and biscuits for my golden retriever Tuggy, which went down very well!!! We had brilliant communication with Sonia , nothing was to much trouble and I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. We were restricted on walking the area due to our very elderly dog, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment at all, we found eating out incredibly easy . The black swan ( just a short distance up the road ) were very dog friendly and excellent food too!!! Also The Shakespeare pub across the way was good also. We had quite chilly weather during our stay but the cottage was warm and cosy. We will definitely return next year to Puddle Duck Cottages.”

- Lynn Hutchings

“Thank you Sonia and Bella for a fantastic stay at your amazing cottages. We had a great time with wonderful friends at a wonderful location. We couldn't ask for more as my four dogs had the time of their life's. Thanks again. Can't wait for the next time. Love from the Davis Gang. xx”

“The cottage was exactly as described and included a fabulous welcome pack. This included bread, milk, wine, cake and even toys for the dogs. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed, including luxurious soft towels and a comfy bed at the end of the day. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs and had plenty of parking spaces. The owner was there to welcome us and also acted as a perfect tour guide. Right on the door step there were great walks along the river and the woods, which also led to dog friendly eating places. We hope to return to this fabulous cottage and we will be telling our friends also.”

“A fabulous weekend at Duckling Cottage, myself, my wife and our Border Terrier Cooper cannot fault the cottage. Spotless, warm, comfortable and food and drink for all, yes, all. Thank you Sonia. We found the Black Swan pub, just down the road. Dog friendly indeed, all and sundry made a fuss of Cooper, and he did to. Great pub and will recommend. Fantastic weekend away for the three of us, and we will deffo be back xxx”

“Duckling Cottage was immaculate and everything that had been said about the cottage was absolutely true. It really was a home from home with excellent human and doggie treats waiting for us. Our beagle, Marley, made himself at home and soon learnt his way around! The furnishings were just right and all was very comfortable. Sonia is a delightful host and we were pleased to be greeted by Bella Beagle too. We have already booked to stay again!! and asked our daughter and son in law to join us. A perfect place for R & R. If you follow Sonia's directions it is very easy to find, we would recommend these cottages to all.”

- Fran Allen

“Duckling cottage is lovely, very cosy and nicely furnished and decorated. Sonia had left us a really nice welcome pack with food essentials and treats for us and our doggies. The woodburning stove made our evenings extra cosy. Beds were super-comfortable. Our dogs were safe and secure in a large well fenced outdoor area. The location is superb. Very leafy and pretty, with tons of possibilities for walking and eating out. Nearby Ironbridge is gorgeous, we visited the Tile museum on the way there. Also had a very fun afternoon out at Blist's Hill Victorian town. All just a short walk away. Would highly recommend and will return for another visit in the future.”

- Louise Martin

“A pleasure to review this cottage! We loved it as soon as we walked in! Very Clean, pretty furnishings, well equipped, comfortable chairs and beds, welcome goodies, Even dogs were catered for! The area has so many attractions that we only scratched the surface, will simply HAVE to make a return visit! It was a very good find and one we certainly would stay in again.”

- Steve McWilliam

“The Cottage was lovely and beautifully maintained with some very thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. Whilst cosy there was plenty of space for the 5 of us and our large dog. It is in a great location for walking and exploring the Ironbridge gorge with good pubs that welcome dogs and serve food. Oktoberfest at the Woodbridge was fun and some lovely gifts sourced from MAWS Craft Centre. Both the cottage and the area highly recommended for family with young teenagers.”

- Kate Kane

“Set in beautiful countryside (with some great pubs within walking distance!) - Puddle Duck Cottage was spotlessly clean and even included a welcome 'hamper' of essentials for our trip which was fab. Everything was beautifully presented and the beds were extremely comfortable. Small touches here and there made it very homely. I would definitely go back as it looks very dog friendly too!”

- Hannah Wood

“The cottage is idyllic, beautiful location and excellent facilities inside & out. Everything was perfect for our arrival and Sonia left us some provisions to get us going including a delicious chocolate cake. We would definitely recommend the property for anyone wishing to visit the area which has lots to offer.”

- Sue Carter

“The property is immaculately clean and very welcoming. The huge secure garden made our holiday very relaxing not having any worries about the dogs escaping and they made a new friend in Bertie. You have thought of everything and we didn't want for anything. The welcome pack is especially good including a cake and wine and doggie treats for the boys. The cottage is in a perfect location with beautiful walks from the doorstep. I will definitely recommend your cottages and we were that impressed we re-booked before we left. The Half Moon pub serves exceptionally good food and was a bargain with the Eat Out, Help Out campaign. Can't wait to return.”

- Debra Darkin

“We've just got home from a wonderful much needed relaxing few days in Duckling Cottage, everything about it was perfect, right from the second we arrived there was a lovely warm welcome, our dogs had a brilliant time, especially chasing round with Bertie, it's a gorgeous comfortable cottage, with everything you could possibly need, in a perfect location for exploring Ironbridge and the surrounding area, we can't wait for our next visit!”

- Julie Davies

“I had a lovely short break at this cottage with my greyhound, who settled in straight away. We got a warm welcome from Sonia, and the delightful cottage was well stocked - it even had a dog bowl, dog bags and biscuits!. There are lots of great walks and dog friendly places locally. Although the 'back garden' is a bit small, steep stepped and low fenced for a greyhound, it was fine for the odd 'necessary' trip outside - and there are plenty of places to walk nearby.”

- Tracey Nunn

“We stayed at Puddle Duck Cottage with our 5 month old puppy :) Sonia the owner and her pooch Bella The Beagle couldn't have done more to make us and our Beagle feel more welcome. We were nervous on our first holiday with our dog but this cottage was the perfect place for us! From a welcome pack with dog treats and poop bags for Mylo (our beagle) to a hamper of all the essentials plus cookies and wine for the "humans" we couldn't have asked for more. Sonia even went to the lengths to organise a "Beagle Meet Up" for us and other dog owners where we explored the gorge with her as our guide. We concluded the afternoon with a Sunday roast at the nearby Woodbridge Inn which was outstanding and dog friendly too! The cottage itself is boutique, clean, cozy and quite simply, gorgeous. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Oh and the king size bed is like sleeping on a cloud :) ”

“Entering Puddleduck Cottage is like going into the Tardis. On the outside it looks like a typical small Ironbridge Gorge cottage in a quiet location near the river. You enter through a door at the side to a surprisingly spacious lounge/ kitchen diner. This space is light and comfortable and is ideally suited to a small family or a couple wanting a bit more space. It's location and interior is ideal for dogs. The beds were comfortable and the place was spotless. What we liked was that it felt like home with all the conveniences of home, but with enough character to make it feel you were on holiday. The garden at the back is made up of level terraces with the top one allowing you to look over the roof towards the other side of the Gorge. Ideal for an al fresco meal. The area has much more to offer than just the World Heritage site. Within an hour's drive are the towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow with their half timbered buildings and markets. There is the historic working farm of Acton Scott. Good walking is not far away on the Long Mynd with it's gliding club, or the hill fort of Caer Caradoc. The owner, Sonia, who lives in the next cottage is a fount of knowledge about everything from craft shops to hill walks and of course dog walks which she and her beagle Bella have thoroughly researched. ”

“We stayed at Puddle Duck Cottage for 3 wonderful nights in October. The welcome we got from Sonia on arrival was just lovely, the cottage itself was immaculate, well equipped, perfectly laid out, and very comfortable and cosy. The cottage is in a very peaceful location, and could not have been more perfect for us and our 3 year old Springer Spaniel Tommy! We would recommend Puddle Duck cottage without hesitation, and will definitely be returning what can I say...perfect ....this was a great break for my Husband and I and our Springer. We wish we could have stayed longer, we felt very relaxed when we left. We miss you Puddle Duck! Gary, Lesley & Tommy (Wirral) ”

“We recommended a customer to Puddleduck cottage recently when they were on a business trip to Telford. They adored the cottage and want to return with the whole family. I took a peak myself and the whole cottage is pristine, log burner was already on (what a lovely welcome) and very comfortable. Also literally minutes away from 3 or 4 dog friendly pubs!”

- Karen and Boomerang

“We booked Puddleduck cottage for a week and we were not disappointed. The cottage is beautifully decorated with luxurious touches added by the owners and truly feels like a 'home from home'. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need during a weeks holiday including dishwasher, washing machine and family eating area. The bedrooms and bathroom areas have been very tastefully decorated in a modern style. The garden is enclosed and dog friendly, which was a must for us. It has a lovely bridal way at the bottom along with trees. When we visited we saw lots of wildlife including squirrels feeding in the early morning. The cottage is very dog friendly and there was even a doggy welcome pack, which our dog thought was great! The owners really have thought of everything you could possibly need and were very kind and welcoming. A family welcome pack was provided with milk, tea, coffee, eggs and a variety of snacks. They gave us lots of information with regards to local events, restaurants and nearby dog walks. Puddleduck cottage is ideally located to visit all the area has to offer including the famous world heritage site of Ironbridge, the Wrekin, lots of museums, fantastic dog walks and so much more. If you are planning a visit to the area then look no further for your accommodation than Puddleduck cottage. Its an absolute must! We can't wait to go back!”

- Lorraine Bridgement

“We had a fantastic week at Puddle Duck. The location of the cottage is superb. For us it is real treat to be able to leave the car and explore the area by foot. Puddle Duck Cottage is beautiful. Everything you could wish for and more. Sonia is a perfect host, who certainly goes the extra mile to make sure that her guests are well catered for. She had a wealth of local information to hand which certainly helped us to make the most of our time. We have no hesitation recommending, and will most definately be returning ourselves.”

- Sarah Parnham

“Dog-friendly with a capital DF! Bella the beagle will be there to greet you when you arrive, along with 'mum' Sonia: between them they are the perfect hostesses. It's easy to see that a lot of time and effort has gone into the recent renovation and refurbishment of Puddleduck Cottage (the name alone beckons you to stay!) and it is a wonderfully welcoming home from home. Clean, comfortable, warm and cosy, with a secure garden for the dogs to play in. We love the fact that it is situated at the heart of a World Heritage Site - it's rather like taking a walk back in time along the banks of the River Severn, in the stunning Ironbridge Gorge. Lots of paths and walks for the dogs - Boot and Charley love exploring there. Blists Hill Victorian Town is a short walk away, as are numerous other attractions. Sonia and Bella are more than happy to recommend places to visit and even act as tour guides, and the stunning Shropshire Hills are just a short drive away with lots of dog-friendly places to walk and eat. Your only problem will be finding enough time to fit everything in - the perfect excuse to book another break! ”

- Hilary and Bob Jones (with Charley and Boot)

“Puddle Duck Cottage is in a beautiful setting by the River Severn where the only thing you can hear in a morning is the birds tweeting. We had a fantastic, relaxing stay in this homely cottage that is well equipped and in a perfect location for walking our dog and to visit the many dog-friendly places all within walking distance. We will definately be returning soon and would highly recommed as a great place to stop with your four legged friends.”
